SIUH/NYSNA Negotiation Update – April 8, 2021
Yesterday, Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) and the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) met virtually for our 10th negotiation session.
We’re pleased to report that we reached a tentative agreement on the critical topic of pandemic preparedness and safety, reflecting the determination and open-mindedness of both parties. The agreement’s terms and conditions encapsulate SIUH and NYSNA’s shared commitment to team member and patient safety, and our mutual interest in ensuring nurses have opportunities to provide input around the hospital’s safety and preparedness protocols.
With a resolution on pandemic safety and preparedness achieved, we now look forward to focusing on another important subject of mutual interest – staffing – at our next session on April 16.
