SIUH/NYSNA Negotiation Update – March 17, 2021

Yesterday, Staten Island University Hospital (SIUH) and the New York State Nurses Association (NYSNA) met virtually for our seventh negotiation session.

The parties continued to engage in a constructive dialogue as we seek to wrap up the last few remaining non-economic items before transitioning to economic topics, such as wages and benefits. Previously, SIUH presented a proposal regarding Float Team nurses that would greatly enhance our staffing flexibility. Although we discussed this important topic at length, we didn’t reach an agreement at yesterday’s session. We hope to find common ground on this and other non-economic issues at our next session on March 23.
